Perhaps I missed something, but aren't you making things too
complicated? Go to your Qube's Administrator Site, select
Control Panel, take the second button which is Access Rights,
and you'll see a selection for Public Site Access. This
determines whether the homesite is publicly accessible or
whether it requires a user/passwd.

Is this what you wanted?
