I don't think that's what he means.
e.g., I have a site hosted by a company using a "virtual" server that gives
me access to my httpd.conf file. I could create a http://sub.domain.com/ of
a domain hosted on my RaQ2 and have the DNS point to the IP of that virtual
site. Then sub.domain.com can be pointed to a directory on that virtual
server and take advantage of any services available from that server.
