The only reason why I even stressed all that is that I have seen some
friends of mine loose their shirts in the business.
But I actually think Rodolfo will be successful in this venture, because he
has thought all this stuff out and has made necessary arrangements that will
complement his skill set. Also he is in a very unique market position that
will give him huge advantage. For him this makes perfect sense and I have
no doubt that he will be sucessfull.
Unfortunately I have seen many that are not in his position and make this
decision hastily. Never a good business decision is made in haste.
If it makes any of you feel any better I don't have any fantasies that I
myself can make money in this business. That is one of the reasons why I am
warning people. This is the reason why we don't offer hosting services
where I work. We offer application hosting for our clients--and *needed*
our own servers for flexibility, performance and reliability that can't be
obtained any other way. I guess you can consider it a loss leader for our
other services.
Anyway,
