In that case you set your ISP as a secondary mail server.  If your
connection goes down, the email is not bounced it is delivered to the
secondary and will come through when you are back on line.

Generally mail won't be bounced if your connections goes down as most mail
servers will attempt delivery for up to 5 days before returning it to the
sender.
