I have used Veritas Backup Exec and don't like it ... I dumped it in favour
of Dantz Retrospect.

Although not publicly announced, Dantz are working on a Retrospect Linux
client and have a range of Cobalt kit in their test lab. To the best of my
knowledge it is their intention to make the client available for all the
Cobalt range.

Apparently they are close to making a public beta available ... the delay is
ensuring support for non x86 Linux platforms (e.g. Qube, Qube2, etc).

In the meantime I use Retrospect to backup SAMBA or Netatalk shares
depending on what is predominate in the LAN.

Cheers, Malcolm
