The canonical lookup failures are due to reverse DNS lookups.
The -R command-line parameter should fix this. If you edit you
/etc/inetd.conf and look for the line that called qpopper
(in.qpopper), and add -R to the end of it.
pop-3 blah blah blah in.qpopper -R
The do a 'killall -HUP inetd' to restart inetd, you should stop
seeing those errors.
