Subject: RE: [cobalt-users] Scheduled Backup Failed

"Robert, Your assistance has been greatly appreciated... Thanks again.

This response was sent to Robert F. It was sent because instead of flaming,
he took the time to assist a professed Newbie and turn him on to Linux and
the Cobalt products. This is not a bad thing, helping even if the info is in
the FAQs is what mailing lists and newsgroups is all about. Everyone of us
was a Newbie that had someone take us aside and say "read and research, then
ask." That's not a bad thing either but, it should be done with tact.

****This is to Cobalt because I was once told not to complain about a
problem without offering at least one solution (flamers take note...):

PLEASE direct all new list subscribers to a mailing list web screen which
uses the "KISS" method to explain what the lists are for, how to use them,
and proper list etiquette. ENSURE that it explicitly states to check the
knowledge base and archives before posting and that it includes a "I have
read and understand" button they must click on before subscribing. (Yes..I
know that does not necessarily mean they read it ... :) )

I think this might eliminate list redundancy and flaming and make out list
posting/reading a little more tolerable.
