Re: [cobalt-users] Double Posts

This is a simple one to resolve. When you hit 'reply' to a list message,
it uses the Reply-to: address as this overrides the From: address.

[Note here that well-written mailers should give you the choice between
the two]

In the case of this list, hitting 'reply' starts to compose a message to
the Reply-to: address, cobalt-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, as you'd expect
(and like).

If however you hit 'Reply All' (or whatever your local flavour is) it
not only uses the Reply-to: address but *also* the original To: address.
In our case, that is [fanfare!] cobalt-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Bingo! Double posting.

The trick is: either hit 'Reply' and not 'Reply All', or use a mailer
which gives you the option of who to reply to. And make sure you keep an
eye on the headers of the message you're writing instead of blindly
accepting what your mailer gives you.

Hope this helps.
