gui is possible, but not good (i`ve heard rumors that the restore
fails).
about 2 months ago someone posted some good instructions for a similar
solution using a tool "ftpbackup".
the only thing i didn`t like was that he used anonymous ftp (big
security risk), and that ftp is unencrypted (and you`ll probably backup
/etc/passwd and /etc/shadow).
i`m doing a similar solution over an internal network using the raq`s
2nd nic to a dedicated backup server, but feel not too good due to
lacking encryption. i will add it, but didn`t have the time yet.
if you don`t find the article in the archives, contact me offlist, i
think i archived it somewhere.
if you are interested, contact me offlist, i wrote a little (quick and
dirty) script to do this job, creating a directory (date) on the remote
server with some very basic logging capabilities. alpha, though...
if there is some public interest, maybe i`ll post it here when it has
reached beta status (todo : afio instead of tar, adding encryption, scp
instead of ftp).
