RE: [cobalt-users] [Qube 2] Restore CD

Dear Mr. du Toit,

I am very sorry you have had such a very bad experience with Cobalt's
Technical Support service.
As I am part of the emea support team from day one, I take these messages
quite personal.
I would very much like you to email me who you contacted and when,as we
ship out a new unit free of charge when a unit is or becomes defective
within the first 30 days after purchase. I checked our support log systems,
and the only reference to you is a mail from last Friday afternoon from
Roger Goodwin from Macland with a request to contact you regarding a RaQ3
that is apparently very slow. My colleague Mr. Kortenhorst contacted you,
saw there were no patches installed, and recommended installation of the
patches available from our website and try again. He hasn't heard back from
you.

If you have any open issues with our support team, please forward them to
me, so I can follow up.

Please also note that you should normally contact emea-support for
technical support, as you are located in Africa.

Our support telephone number is +31 71 565 7070.With regards,

Taco Scargo

I fully agree with you. We are in a worse situation. We bought a new
raq3i. The system was corrupt from the start. We are tryng to get some
support from Cobalt, but that does not exist. I will never recommend a
Cobalt product to anybody. They are a useless crowd. Even Microsoft beats
them hands down with product support and product quality.

Subject: [cobalt-users] [Qube 2] Restore CD

Hello
Does anybody know of a reseller I can purchase the Qube 2 restore CD from
in
Europe ?
Does the CD cover all languages ?
Also (just stating my humble opinion), I was wondering what list members
think about having to pay $99 for a CD (shipping not included I am sure...)
? It's like buying a Windows PC and not getting the CD for windows.. Some
manufacturers were doing that but you had at least a disk image on the
HD...
I don't mind paying for the shipping/blank-CD/time, but $99 sounds a lot
for
something you already paid (the machine came with the OS..).
I agree that for people with a bunch of Raq's, $99 is not a lot/Raq, but
for
one Qube..well maybe I am too cheap !!
TIA.
