My other piece of advice is unless you are experienced with Linux I would
not recommend editing or removing files or directories until you have more
knowledge.

in this forum,  i have read on many occasions just
telnet in and su- to root and you can edit your this
and that...

being new to the dedicated cobalt raq 3 world...

i , and many others it would appear in this group,
have no idea what is being talked about...

i have combed the web and cobalt newsgroups for a week
now and still have no idea on how to edit any server
file...

or for that matter, to even simply remove a
directory...

can anybody please refer me to some sort of , in
laypersons terms,  on line unix telnet / shell command
how to and tutorial ...

or perhaps recomend a actual book for reference...
