Has anyone else had this problem???
Here's the dirt...
We have a Cobalt RaQ 3 which were are hosting web sites on from a location
outside of our office...
At our office location we have a firewall and we are using DSL to connect
to the Internet...
Often when we are FTPing to our RaQ our transfer gets aborted and sometimes
we get file retrieval errors when we try to move through the directories...
In the log file for our firewall, I noticed these errors are registering as
"TCP connection dropped" showing the source address as the IP for our RaQ
and the the destination address (which in this case is on our network at
the office) followed by port #113 - in the notes column it states
"authentication" and the rule as "0" (whereas we do have incoming traffic
blocked)...
I am wondering if this is indicating why we are getting these errors and
aborts on our FTPing to the RaQ or if there is another reason.
I am aware of the fact that some Linux machines attempt to connect back to
you through port 113 when you connect to them... Again, I am not sure
whether or not this is affecting our FTPing...
Anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening, or what we can do about
it???
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks in advance...
