[cobalt-users] Can I get rid of the hostname completely?

Dear all,
I would like to be able to create a site with no hostname at all. I am not
particulally experienced with servers and web technology so you might have
to bear with me a bit. Sorry if I ask daft or incorrect questions :)
I can create A records in the DNS control panel with no hostname (it say
"optional"), but when creating a new virtual site I cannot leave the
hostname box empty.
I know my sites are still accessible when no hostname is used because the
RaQ redirects the browser to the domain name with the hostname, but that
isn't really the effect I wanted.
I also realise that many people will always put a www. in front of all
names, but again, that isn't important in this particular instance.
If anyone can help I would really appreciate it, but please be gentle, I am
new to all this.
