I've never set one up but checked into it a little a long time ago.
I was told that a server would have to be setup as the home and hopefully
the group would be accecpted by other "news servers" at which time bandwidth
becomes a concern. big bucks way back when.
I am not current on this issue however.

P.S. options maybe but If I owned any it would be sold. To me that is a
very big bad sign. in fact I wouldn't even think of putting a buy on it.
Now shorting the hell out of it would be easy and I'm surprised nobody is?
