Re: [cobalt-users] Virtusertable.

Hello,

My bad. I seem to remember being the one to post the editing of
the virtusertable and then running "newaliases" I just found out
(as my RaQ ate the virtusertable .... AGAIN) that newaliases only
reloads the configuration information from aliases and
sendmail.cf. *Not* virtusertable. To do a full restart of
sendmail go to /etc/rc.d/init.d/ and run ./sendmail stop then run
./sendmail start. This completely halts all sendmail processes,
shuts the sendmail server down, then brings it back online. So
this *will* stop all incoming and outgoing mail processes in
progress. Though it's only brief so the hiccup shouldn't be too
noticable. Most mail servers that are spooling mail to you will
resend when the server comes back up (basically they'll resend at
their next programmed interval) which on our servers here is an
attempt every 15 minutes unless it gets a "unknown user" type
argument, then it tries once every four days for four tries until
it kills the message. At least I believe it's four tries.
(shrugs) You get the idea.
