Are you trying to do these deletions from your Admin account, or another
account?

Admin should have Root powers, and be able to delete the files...

If admin can't delete them, there could be some kind of lock on them because
you were working with those files in a previous login session and the
computer thinks you're still logged in.  You can try telnetting to the
machine and typing 'Finger' to see if you see any other login sessions.
Unfortunately, I don't remember how to kill another user's session in Linux
to clear out that 'phantom login' if you have one... I used to get them on
another linux box I ran, and I just 'waited them out'. :)
