Here you go...
I have a RAQ3 and here are the instructions that I followed without any
problems:
Please note that if you want MySQL + PHP, please install MySQL FIRST
To install an rpm, telnet in to your box, su to root, ftp the file to your
cobalt machine, then execute the command:
rpm -Uvh rpmfile
RaQ3
rpm -Uvh
ftp://ftp.cobaltnet.com/pub/experimental/raq3/php-3.0.16-2C2.i386.rpm
rpm -Uvh
ftp://ftp.cobaltnet.com/pub/experimental/raq3/php-manual-3.0.16-2C2.i386.rpm
rpm -Uvh
ftp://ftp.cobaltnet.com/pub/experimental/raq3/php-mysql-3.0.16-2C2.i386.rpm
rpm -Uvh
ftp://ftp.cobaltnet.com/pub/experimental/raq3/php-pgsql-3.0.16-2C2.i386.rpm
newer version. Different from RaQ2. Works fine. Install the php-* other rpms
in same dir for pgsql or mysql support depends on a bunch of other things,
including freetype and gd.
In the same directory - grab and install:
rpm -Uvh
ftp://ftp.cobaltnet.com/pub/experimental/raq3/freetype-1.2-7.i386.rpm
rpm -Uvh
ftp://ftp.cobaltnet.com/pub/experimental/raq3/freetype-devel-1.2-7.i386.rpm
rpm -Uvh
ftp://ftp.cobaltnet.com/pub/experimental/raq3/freetype-utils-1.2-7.i386.rpm
rpm -Uvh ftp://ftp.cobaltnet.com/pub/experimental/raq3/gd-1.3-5.i386.rpm
rpm -Uvh
ftp://ftp.cobaltnet.com/pub/experimental/raq3/gd-devel-1.3-5.i386.rpm
> -MYSQL on Raq3i
rpm -Uvh
ftp://ftp.cobaltnet.com/pub/experimental/raq3/MySQL-3.22.32-1.i386.rpm
I was then prompted this:
PLEASE REMEMBER TO SET A PASSWORD FOR THE MySQL root USER !
This is done with:
/usr/bin/mysqladmin -u root password 'new-password'
See the manual for more instructions.
Please report any problems with the /usr/bin/mysqlbug script!
The latest information about MySQL is available on the web at
http://www.mysql.c
om Support MySQL by buying support/licenses at
http://www.tcx.se/license.htmy.
Starting mysqld daemon with databases from /var/lib/mysql
Then to finish up:
rpm -Uvh
ftp://ftp.cobaltnet.com/pub/experimental/raq3/MySQL-client-3.22.32-1.i386.rp
m
rpm -Uvh
ftp://ftp.cobaltnet.com/pub/experimental/raq3/MySQL-devel-3.22.32-1.i386.rpm
After that it should all work. But the server might have to be re-booted.
Then just run the test script for PHP and mySQL and it should be up and
running.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
