Hello Geoff,
I had this very same and unfortunate problem about a week ago.
To tell you I was at my wits end wouldn't even begin to describe
it. However my team and I figured something out that fixed the
problem. Let me try to outline it for you the best I can,
because I still don't completely understand why it has to be
listed like this. Here goes. At the bottom of the file
/etc/virtusertable is a section marked :
----- /etc/virtusertable -----
# accept-email-at-domain routes
----- end cut/paste -----
Underneath this heading you should have a list of email tables.
If what happened to you is what happened to me, our RaQ ate this
table. What you need to post there will look like this:
----- email routes -----
@viindy.com %1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
@boyettflooring.com %1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
@go-sdt.org %1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
@miracle-ride.org %1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
@natare.com %1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
@santarossa.com %1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
----- end cut/paste ------
This is right out of the /etc/virtusertable that is now in use on
my RaQ. I hate to add each of these email domains manually for
all of the domains on the server! Talk about a pain!! I now
keep a seperate backup of this file on another server. What
you'll need to do is type "@domain.com" then (tab) then
"%1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx" Don't ask why you need the tab between the
two files, sendmail must be tab delimited because on a couple of
them I forgot to tab and they still wouldn't work. Had to go
back and add the (tab) instead of a (space). Hope this helps you
out.
After this you will need to restart the sendmail daemon. Typing
the command "newaliases" will *usually* work because it requests
the sendmail server to restart itself and reread it's
configuration files. (Including sendmail.cf and aliases) That
worked for me, however if it is feeling particularly ornery you
may have to do a kill command and restart outright.
