Hi,
since 2 or 3 days we have encountered odd problems with the proftp daemon.
ProFTP seems to attach more security than the filesystem does. When I log on
as admin via telnet I can do anything in our /home/sites/home/web directory.
When I log on as admin via ftp I can't. The owner is httpd group:home. I
think this worked till the last 2 days. When I chown the directory web to
admin.home I have full rights. But this is not a good solution since all
sites are created with httpd.home ownership as default.
It seems that ProFTP checks the ownership of the directory before allowing
anyone to change or create anything, and then applying restrictions that do
not exist in the filesystem.
Why?
Any ideas?????
Yours...
