Hi I do this for about 300 domains
I do the updates via signed email
and then have a cron that does and ndc recconfig

There is a script at
http://www.earth.li/projectpurple/progs/autodns.html

that is a good starting point

However if you don't also add to the

/etc/named records file then the web interface will remove all your domains 
form named.conf
