It sounds like you are not updating the hash table.
I created a little shell script that rebuilds the hash table and restarts
sendmail.
#!/bin/sh
/usr/sbin/makemap hash /etc/virtusertable < /etc/virtusertable
kill -HUP `head -1 /var/run/sendmail.pid`

Subject: [cobalt-users] email aliases
I searched the archives and found that editing the virtusertable is a way to
add aliases for each domain. I edited the table, but I am still getting
fatal errors when I mail to the aliases. Is there another way to add
aliases without having to create user accounts. I simply want mail to be
forwarded to another address....thanks!
Jon
