[cobalt-users] (Qube2) can't delete files

I recently move my archives of patches/updates for Windows to a mapped disk
(the shared directory for the group "home"), likewise my Macintosh stuff.

Thereafter I was unable to log on to the "home" directory. Tried as "admin"
(owner of the files), as "scott" (member of the group), just got "admin" or
"scott" directories.

Located (via telnet) the Windows and Macintosh directories in
/home/groups/home, tried mapping network drive
(\\192.168.0.1\home\groups\home), get a default vanilla home directory. No
Win or Mac directories.

Gets BETTER. Telnet in as root, cd to /home/groups/home, do rm -dfirv
Windows. Asked to confirm deletion, answer "y", then get "operation not
permitted". Same as admin (owner of directories). Can't even cd to some
directories as they have names like "Etherlink 5.2" ("no such file").
Obviously problems with spaces in names.

SO. . .can't see 'em from Mac or Win, can see 'em from Linux but can't
figure out how to get at 'em.

Tried shutting off Appleshare and SMB and rebooting--no difference.

I thought as root I could kill anything!

Any ideas?
