By default it's the same as the admin password.  You cannot login as root through FTP
though and to become root from telnet/ssh shell you need to first login as admin.
Then type "su -" and supply the admin password at the prompt.

Don't like admin and root having the same password?  Then go to the shell and type
"/usr/bin/passwd" after logging in as admin and supply the new password at the
prompt.
