POP, IMAP or web-based? POP users tend to use less space than IMAP and web-based and
POP uses *a lot* less system resources than the latter two. Tell us a little about
your typical mail user. If you're going to use a RaQ3 as a mail server with a lot of
users you will probably want to add more RAM. If you're going to be hosting
thousands of mail users for a dialup ISP or a portal site you may want to look at
some other solutions.

On the RaQ2 I'd say the Mips architecture has been the biggest hurdle. On the RaQ3s
I'd say GUI and Cobalt system related bugs and poorly tested patches.

I'm not really familiar with that product.

What will these 400 servers be used for and how did you decide 400 was the right
number? RaQs are good basic web hosting appliances, are excellent first servers for
Linux newbies, allow for quick and easy configuration of sites and users and have a
small (1U) footprint with little power consumption. They are not ideal application
servers, do not have the advantages of RAID, etc. and are not in the same class as a
VA Linux, HP or Dell Server. I'm interested to hear what your needs are from a
business standpoint. The RaQs may be an ideal choice for you, an ideal partial
solution or a poor solution all together.
