Boy I love hubristic, egotistical statements like this.... just the kind of
thing that gives unix admins a reputation for being asocial nerds... is
this a forum for helping each other or cutting people down?

I've checked out Logcheck and it's not for me.  I'm allreday using
Portsentry however and this is a good program.  I'm mainly concerned with
attempts at breaking through an .htaccess mechanism.  Logcheck seemed like
overkill to me for my needs.
