mine uses tcp/ip ?
siemens s25 is a gsm cellular phone with integrated modem and infrared
port, so you don`t need any cable. i don`t know if similar phones exist
for US cellular providers, they use other standards, i think.

solution but a small one for your weekend apartment in Paris :-), you
can attach any modem to the palm`s docking station using a null modem
adaptor (crossover), or using the palm`s modem cable (i have my servers
remotely hosted and use that if i have to connect via the serial port).
