Yes this is a good solution here. Unfortunately the palm VII uses UPD packets instead of TCP. Is the siemens an analog modem or wireless? Haven't heard of it. The $149 palm modem would allow you to establish a tcp/ip connection via PPP and therefore a telnet session to the Raq. The Omnisky modem is real sweet too. It clips to the back of the palm series and gives you a true tcp/ip wireless connection.

i use a palm III / siemens s25 for ssh access. (with topgun ssh client).
an external keyboard is useful. you can connect even with the modem
cable to the raq`s serial port.

did not try the gui, as i use ssl and have no ssl enabled browser for
the palm (and, actually, gsm is at 9.600... :-)
