[cobalt-users] Re: Relay Mail Error

Mike, please re-read my note. The "IP address AND the domain name of the SMTP
server you want your client to use" means the name & IP of your server, not
the domain or IP of the connection your user is using.

I presumed you were providing domain hosting service on your server for your
client's domain. Say you are hosting joesdomain.com for this user. He wants
to send mail through the server. You must make sure that joesdomain.com and
the IP address of joesdomain.com are both added to the Relay for Hosts/Domains
box. Normally they are added automatically when you create the virtual site,
but I have had occasion where they were not added automatically, thus you
should check to make sure.

Next, you must add the domain of the user's internet connection to the Relay
box as well (in my previous example this was ibm.net). You do not need to add
the user's connection IPs.

Re MX records: it depends... Double check that the server's new IP address is
listed in the Relay box.

Re P-B-S: I've not used it, so I don't know what you have to do to enable it.
Presumably this information would be in the readme for it, but I haven't
looked at it.
