that means :
- html in mailinglists is not necessary (and not desired)
- many (even modern) mail clients do not show html messages when getting
them in a digest, many disable it (like me)
- not every system does display it (did you ever receive html email
using a palm pilot e.g. ?)
- it can be a security risk for recipients
- it blows up traffic
- simply disable craetion of html messages in your client, use plain
text instead
