That error usually occurs when the mailbox of the user is corrupt.

Most of the time there is a > in front of FROM looking like:

>From blah@xxxxxxxxxxxx  Wed Jun  15 12:28:23 2000

Take away the > and then that should fix that error and allow the mail to be downloaded.

The POP server qpopper, that comes with RaQ servers is of an older version and should be replaced. Bugs like this have been fixed. There's also a security problem with it.
