Because I did, I guess.  The advantage of using a CNAME is that you
don't have to change it again as long as it points to the same
domain-name.

With a CNAME you only have to change the two A records if you move the
site, even to a completely different computer, as long as you're moving
the mail functionality, too.

But with CNAME there are two lookups, and with A records only one, so
I've broken a few my own rules.  I'm only human.
