Re: [cobalt-users] Re: Trouble with FrontPage and User Webs

Nick,

I had exactly these symptoms on the first site I set up on my RAQ3 a few months back.

When I deleted and then re-installed it, FP wouldn't work.

Cobalt support said I need to install a patch... I said "yeah, right" becuase I had just installed it.

Trouble was, I had deleted the site BEFORE the patch. And not all the files were deleted. We resolved it, and have never had the problem again.

FP works on all virtual sites.. and if you want, on each users site under the domain (I don't recommend that due to disk space waste.)

I can't remember enough details of the fix to post.. but just want to reassure you that you are right.. you are not setting up sub-webs as defined by FP.. just virtual sites.

I was under the impression that the setup for a user's web site was not
technically considered a true FrontPage "subweb". Why would they put that as
a feature in the GUI if it wasn't available?

We have also recently found a site that we can't get the server extensions
to work at all. The FrontPage client just never recognizes that there are
extensions installed. We have deleted the whole site and started over, but
no luck.

Is there any way to "re-install" the server extensions on the RaQ itself?
