[cobalt-users] FrontPage Problems

Well,

As if I weren't busy enough, now we are having problems with FrontPage and
it's &!?#%*@ extensions. One of my people broke the cardinal rule of mixing
FTP and FrontPage publishing when uploading a site to our RaQ3. Naturally,
this sort of works, but not really. For anyone with this experience, you
lose the tree structure of the site, along with causing some interesting
problems with permissions and ownerships of the FrontPage files. The
question is this:
Is there a way to Telnet into the box and fix the permissions and ownerships
on the website files? I think what is happening is that some files are
owned by admin and some are now owned by httpd. I saw that Bryan Kidd
seemed to be having a similar problem yesterday. Bryan? What was the
solution? If there is a nastier way that this has to be done, like killing
the site, removing and reinstalling the FrontPage extensions, then
republishing the site with FrontPage, please let me know that, too. Whether
it takes a pair of tweezers or a sledgehammer, I want to fix this. Probably
the best is just to buy Macromedia Dreamweaver and round-file FrontPage...

:) Mark
