First of all, hello to all on this
list!
I'm planning to get myself one of these cool blue
boxes,
attracted by all the easy administration and
all.
I run a fairly popular entertainment site, so RaQ3
sounds
like the perfect solution for me.
I don't know the first thing about UNIX or Linux,
but after taking the raq3 demo at cobalt, I think I can handle
it...
But after following this list for a few days, I got
the impression that these machines are not so stable as
Cobalt tries to tell the public.
I mean, I'm down here in Chile, and if
I'm going to rent a raq with a hosting company in the US,
I can't afford to have it going down every time. I mean, having support
re-installing the OS every now and then would mean serious down times and would
cost me a fortune.
So can anybody tell me how secure and fail proof
these boxesm are, and if the backup options
on it are suficient. Also, do most web hosting companies cover an
hardware failure?
Sorry for asking questions that most of you have
heard a thousand times, but this info Cobalt does not post on it's
site....
