Huh?
I have not made the plunge into Win 2000 yet, so your need to create a
network "folder" does not mean anything to me.
Under Win9x and NT you do the following;
1. Open Retrospect
2. Click on the Configure tab
3. Click on the Volumes button
4. Click on the Network button
5. Navigate your network to the Cobalt server
6. Navigate the share/directory structure until the "Use:" field contains
the "thing" you want to backup.
7. Click on the Use: button.
8. Back at the Configure tab, click on the Backup Sets button
9. Click on the Create New button
10. Decide what sort of storage set you want to create, name it, etc
You can now go to the automate tab and create a script to backup the volume
you just defined to the storage set you just defined.
If you want the script to run at scheduled times, make sure that the
Retrospect Launcher service runs as a user (with password) which has access
to the Cobalt server (e.g. admin).
I also edit smb.conf to add additional share points so I can automate
backups of ALL the user directories as well as the mail spool area (i.e.
inboxes). If you do this you will also need to add the line;
admin users = admin
to the [global] section so admin can read (i.e. backup) all files in these
new share points.
Getting support for Retrospect ...
The manual is actually VERY good and quite readable.
