sure you do ... and it's simple, easy and safe. I finally munged
through the documentation on the cobalts, which contain incorrect
man pages for the ftp server, so I figured I'd go to proftp's
web page and read their doc. You can find info at:
http://www.proftpd.net/docs/configuration.html#DefaultRoot
I simply made my DefaultRoot / for my user id.
Why this can't be in the doc on the RAQ's is beyond me, and why
the cobalt people didn't know such a simple answer is scary.
What's probably most disturbing is that Cobalt doesn't want you
to know this for some reason.
