[cobalt-users] Users, Aliases and the Virtusertable

I'm trying to get a grasp on the interaction of:
Users, Aliases and the Virtusertable

On my BSDI server, aliases and virtusertable are edited manually.

How does the cobalt handle aliases with the same names to different domains?
Does it automatically recognize these and place them in the virtusertable?
