Mat,
I very seldom find myself disagreeing with you. I don't want to start
now.
So I'll just ask...
Why would you have to stop those other processes, since they've just
been started to handle specific tasks and they'll go away as soon as the
task ends?
I've never seen any reason to stop any sendmail processes except the
main one that I started, which starts the others as necessary.
Sendmail the book, seems to say the same. At least my copy <smile>.
