[cobalt-users] MySQL and ld.so.1

Hi everybody,

I'm trying to install MySQL on a Raq3i. Followed the instructions in 
ftp://ftp.cobaltnet.com/pub/experimental/README.php3+mysql but I get this 
error:

ld.so.1 is needed by MySQL-3.22.21-2C1

Probably this implies that I've got an old version of some library. Since 
I'm kind of a newbie, I don't now how to progress from here...

And oh yes, I've tried to issue the RPM command with --nodeps argument. I 
find this tricky since it means 'ignore any pain and 
just-bluntly-do-it-cause-I-say-so. Plus that it errs and says: this package 
is not for this architecture or something like that.

What to do now?
