Just to check the stupid...you don't have Outlook automaticlly checking
for email do you ? (And loose real audio applet)

if you can find tcpdump you can watch all IP traffic tho i dunno if you
can put it on a qube..

Windows TCP stack knowingly violates the socket open timeouts, not all
that much you can do...(i guess ms figured windoze users are impatient;)
