Re: [cobalt-users] APOP : How do I remove a user?

Hi Tarren, Jonathon,

Thanks for the help. The information you provided was very
useful.

My APOP problem is solved, let me tell you what transpired.

Yesterday, I unchecked APOP for the entire domain and then
unchecked it for the user (in that order). I also changed the
passowrd for the email account in question. It did not seem
to solve the problem. I kept checking the email and I kept
getting the APOP error message. I then spent the better part
of the evening reading APOP documentation, posts, etc. I
didn't make any other changes to the settings for this domain.
I checked email on this account 1 last time around midnight EST,
and still got the error. I went to bed and got up this a.m. and
checked the posts that you guys had sent in regarding APOP.

I then SU'd as root and did popauth -list It did nothing (appeared
that the apop list was empty). To be sure, I did popauth -delete
username

'User 'username' not found in apop database'

Hmmmm.... I then checked email for this domain and it came through
fine.

Thus, I am assuming that when you use the GUI to uncheck APOP, there is
some delay time before it actually completes the request.

Or, maybe the RaQ3 fairy came down while I was sleeping and fixed
everything for me!

Regardless, your information was very helpful and I have documented
these posts in my files for future reference.

Thanks again,
Bill M.
