Very nice solution ... some overhead, not too intrusive.

What if you wanted to be more restrictive?

I'm thinking about a policy similar to email relay ... only accept email
attachments of a certain types.  If a message arrived with a unacceptable
attachment type ... send it back.  Its probably a bit hard to reject it as
one would with email relay, but "return to sender" with an approriate note
to force a company policy might be appropriate.

Would this be hard to implement?

A GUI interface to add/remove permitted attachment types would be a nice
touch.
