Honestly, I would say that price isn't the biggest deal when choosing the
right registrar.  Its important that you weigh the other (IMHO, more
important) things such as response time, etc.  Recently there was a post on
./ (http://www.slashdot.org) about a really lame site that rates the
registrars, but pretty much from the standpoint of a squatter.

We tend to use our own OpenSRS system from registering domain systems.  Its
a wholesaling setup, where you are your own registrar and you work with
OpenSRS (Tucows) to register domains.  The site is http://www.opensrs.org.
This is the least cost for sure, but you are responsible for more, as well.
The nice thing is you get a lot more freedom and are in complete control,
which I like.
