Yes, I appreciate the effect of posting in html, and my default email format
(Outlook) is text, but outlook automatically sets the format to html in a
reply if the original was in html.
anyone know how to set outlook so it does not do that, and remains in text
format?

Your error provides an excellent example of why peole should NOT post in
html.
Did you notice that your original post took up 10kb, while your non-HTML
second post took up only four?
I've been saying for several years now that HMTL mail takes up almost
twice as much space as non-HTML mail; you've finally made my point. And
my day <smile>.
