Two ways.
Either don't use the gui at all (I don't), or make the changes to the
"/etc/named/conf/records" file, and not to any other file and let named
use the files it wants to use.
If you insist on doing it your way, then I ask: "How did you make sure
that named read named2.conf on configuration, and not named.conf?
If you insist on using wildcards I ask: "Have you read what DNS and
Bind says about using wildcards?
