We are having sporadic problems concerning some of our e-mail
users. On uncertain occasions, the user's password is rejected by
the POP client--a password which worked the day before.
In the /home/spool/mail folder, a file is created called
.username.pop
with a filesize of 0.
Users who are getting their mail regularly do not have such a file.
If I delete the file, it is re-created by the next mail login failure.
Although this file is not the cause of the problem, I would like to
know what it signifies. Any ideas??
