If this has been covered in a previous posting please point me to it, as I
am new to the group.
After spending two weeks back and fourth with my ISP, Cobalt, and hours on
the phone with Microsoft. It has been determined that the Raq3 (I don't
know if this is true for the rest) does not support the permissions
capability in FP2000. (Tools/Security/Permission). Microsoft said it should
work and Cobalt after working my way to Front Page person said oh yeah..that
doesn't work. Because Cobalt doesn't support sub webs. Well... since FP
takes over the security of ALL the directories in the WEB directory and sets
its own permissions, even though you might have MYOWNDIRECTORY within WEB
you can't control the security via ws_ftp . You will get an error that says
you don't have permission. So does anyone have any ideas of how you
accomplish this?
It would be nice also if Cobalt would put tech information about this
problem on its support page of the web site.
Thanks
Bryan Kidd, newbie with Cobalt
