I would argue that this is more of a hardware issue than a software one.
The MIPS processor is not hard to load up a little too much. I imagine the
Raq3 (although I don't like the K6), is far superior to the Raq2 in what it
can handle. I don't think that a Windows NT machine running on a similar
MIPS chip (which you certainly can purchase and run) could perform anywhere
near that of the Raq2.
But you are correct... the load on the Raq2 you have to keep an eye
on--especially if you have some heavy hitting sites on there (as far as
scripting and DB is concerned). You can get a lot more distance out of them
by having a dedicated SQL server, and moving the 'heavy cpu' sites off of th
Raq2 to the 'heavier iron' machines.
