RE: [cobalt-users] Conflicting Network information on a Raq2

Nat,

Thank you for your quick response!
Does it mean it may be an error from my provider?

Thank you!

Julio

With that mask you would have 254 addresses...  Maybe they are overlapping you with someone else.

Subject: [cobalt-users] Conflicting Network information on a Raq2

Hi all!

I'll be grateful if someone helps me. I have been searching in the KB and found something that seems to be related to what I want to know but I don't understand very much.

I have a Raq2. My provider initially gave me 5 IP addresses from a total of 16 that came with my Raq2. All works without problems.

When I requested for another block of 5 IP addresses, my provider sent me the following information:

IP list: xx.xx.xx.245 to 249
Network: xx.xx.xx.0
Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Broadcast: xx.xx.xx.255

No site with a IP address under de form  xx.xx.xx.24x works.

Why does my provider now include Network, Netmask and Broadcast information but didn't the first time they sent the first block of 5 IP addresses to me?

What can I do? I understand nothing about Netmask, Broadcast and so on!

Since the IP information is sent to me by my provider, I suppose it's possible to make any change through the GUI.

Any help will be very much appreciated!

Thank you!

Julio
