[cobalt-users] 404 Errors with new 128 bit ssl on Raq 3i

Hi,

I installed the 128 bit security update on a Raq3i and did a self
signed certificate for the box. After doing this, any time a bad
URL is entered for any site on the box, a security / certificate
warning window appears before displaying the default error file
not found page.

About 2 weeks ago when I called Cobalt tech support, they support
verified this was happening but told me that:

"he wasn't sure if this was a bug or the way it was designed to
function"

with the explanation that it was because in order to access the
standard file not found error page, it had to access the secure
site on the box.

OK, so this sounds really lame and I'm sure I'm not explainging
it well, but has anyone heard of this? Am I doing something
wrong. Seems to me this would be a major problem for any hosted
sites and would certainly be confusing for vistors. Only solution
I've found is to turn off SSL and delete the cert for the box.

Any help?

Thanks, .. David
